CASE 898: MEDIASTINAL LYMPHOMA, Dr PHAN THANH HẢI, Dr LÊ THỊ THANH THẢO, MEDIC MEDICAL CENTER, HCMC, VIETNAM.

 A 30 year-old woman with hoarsening and epigastric pain for 4 months. Her left neck was swollen without inflammation sign since inoculated against rabies.


Ultrasound detected her left neck  and superclavicular edema  with some round lymph nodes.


And a hypoechoic mass of the left lung invaded to the superclavicular region. Ultrasound also noted abdominal lymph nodes and a left ovarian teratoma.

Chest XRay noted inflamed TB and left hilus mass.

MSCT confirmed a left anterior mediastinal mass, left ovarian teratoma and abdominal lymph nodes.


Core biopsy of the left anterior mediastinal mass with the result was an anterior mediastinal B cell lymphomas.

CASE 893: CAROTID BODY TUMOR, Dr PHAN THANH HẢI, Dr NGÔ THỊ HUYỀN TRANG, MEDIC MEDICAL CENTER, HCMC, VIETNAM.

 A man with right neck mass for a long time.



 Ultrasound detected a # 28x33x42mm hypervascular mass at the right carotid bifurcation which made it spread out 2 branches of the right carotid artery.




MSCT confirmed a right carotid body tumor.


But the man denied any surgical management.

CASE 892: LEFT COLON TUMOR, Dr PHAN THANH HẢI, Dr NGUYỄN ĐỨC MINH, MEDIC MEDICAL CENTER, HCMC, VIETNAM.

 A 39 year-old man with bloody stool for 5 months and loss of weight.

Ultrasound detected left colon mass which had thickening wall # 11-17mm nearby the spleen and the left kidney.


Colonoscopy and MSCT confirmed the left colon tumor.


Result of biopsy was an adenocarcinoma of colon moderate differentiated.





Endoscopic surgery removed the tumor and metastatic lymph nodes.
